Dia de los Muertos Information

The annual Dia de los Muertos celebration takes place on November 2nd. The event is free to attend and welcomes all members of the community. The annual program features live music, traditional Folkloric dance and more.

Quick Facts:

• November 1st, Cemetery opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 7:00 p.m.
• November 2nd, Cemetery opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 8:00 p.m.
• No Parking on grounds either day, all visitors must park in designated parking area.
• No alcohol, dogs or pets, open flames including candles, canopies, tables allowed
• Small coolers, food and drink, umbrellas and chairs are allowed

Stage & Entertainment Schedule for the 2024 Dia de los Muertos celebration:

1 pm – 4 pm: Background Music

4 pm – 5 pm: Valet Folkloric Dancers

5 pm – 7:30 pm: Los Buhos De Mexicali

7:30 pm – 8 pm: Closing Ceremony/Blessing

Memorial Day Information

The Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District’s Memorial Day ceremony is presented in partnership with the American Legion Post 739 Indio.  The event is held annually on the last Monday of May.  The ceremony features a dedication of wreaths, riffle volley, choir performance, a traditional fly over and more. Flags are placed on the headstone of Veteran’s interred at the cemetery in partnership with BSA Troops 1701 and 451.  The event is free to attend and all are welcome.

The following annual dates are “high traffic” occasions at the Cemetery.  Some traffic restrictions, pedestrian access modifications, and changes to office hours and mowing schedule may be in place. Please contact the office or follow us on Facebook for additional information.
